Subject: RE: Won't steer in the mud

Southeast Washington
The Cat MT 800 series has a hydraulic swinging drawbar available that can be used to throw the load around to steer the tractor when in those conditions when one track grabs and the other is spinning. I have used it several times pulling muddy hills in the spring. John Deere also has a hydraulic drawbar system available on the 9000 series tracked tractors.

The hydraulic swinging drawbar makes all the difference in the world. We have a Challenger 45 without it and it is a pain on some uphill turns while the MT 855 handles more like an articulated tractor.
