Subject: RE: Striped Gophers/13 line ground squirrel issues

NW Iowa
I Carry a .22 rifle loaded with shorts in the side by side. The gophers are bad in the edge of the CRP. So far I have plugged 25 of them out of 35 shots. When I see one I stop and wait for it to stop and stand up to look at me, then I plug it. When I get home I toss it to the barn cats. Of course when I don’t have the .22 a gopher will show up. This afternoon I was headed to the field with the swather and there was one of the little critters trying to out run me. I don’t care if they are nature’s creatures, they don’t give me anything in return so I consider them expendable. Badgers? Talk to my son about the badger that digs holes in his lawn going after gophers.
