NE NEBRASKA | Every few weeks I witness someone try to pass with incoming traffic coming. It's like they think others should yield so they can get through.
Actually yesterday I was driving north of Yankton SD on US 81 and on the James River valley a south bound semi pulling a belly dump was passing another semi pulling a van interstate style 1 mph faster than the other. I was driving north bound and the semi with belly dump smoke his brakes to get behind the van trailer again.
Before I get accused of being in the wrong by not hitting the ditch to allow the passing to go on. The belly dump driver would have had a hard time completing the pass as they were already almost to the bridge and had barely gotten ahead of the van trailer axles in 1/4 mile of passing. | |
