Hooker Twp,Ne | Look at the ponds. I can’t remember in my 50+ years of farming seeing ponds this dry, this early in the spring. Seen dry ponds in august but never June 1. This tells us our subsoil situation. A one inch rain once a week isn’t going to cut it shortly. Corn is only 30 days from tassel. It’s getting to the point where we need a full week of slow rain of 4-6 inches through out the WHOLE cornbelt. ODDS of that happening. I’d say next to none. There will be spotted areas that will raise a crop but those will be far and in between. | |
