Southwest Iowa | Not sure there's a right or a wrong answer, just wondering what others opinions are on this.
The field outlined in red is the softball field. The field outlined in blue is the baseball field. The yellow dot is the American flag that serves both fields for the National Anthem. The white dot is where I'm usually sitting, watching the softball game.
The softball game gets going first, so after the player introductions, the National Anthem is played and everyone stands, faces the flag with hand over heart.
Depending on when the baseball guys get going, it could be 5-20 minutes later when they do introductions and play the National Anthem.
I and 80% of the people that are in my vicinity stand and salute both times it is played. People that are further away like behind home plate and down right field line typically don't.
I'm just curious what others would do or what the proper thing to do is? I'm not criticizing those that don't stand for both. I'm just wondering what everybody else would do.
