Amherst WI | I agree with what you said, we wouldn't have these water quality issues if it was "done right".
I also sometimes think we might be over our skis as to what the land should produce. "Yeah but yields keep going up" is the common metric to show soil health and sustainability from those who don't understand what either of those really are.
That's like saying you should do some kind of uppers so you can work all the time and never see your family or have a life besides work, but holy moly look at that bank account.
But that's also the market that has been put in place so that's why its the way it is.
