| I did lose one rented farm and almost lost another because they did not believe in fertilizer.
One farm the landlord came out and chewed me out for putting the whole crop in the bin instead of just his share. He was actually upset when I told him the rest of his share was in town along with mine. Plus his other bin was full also.
He or his other renters had never filled the one bin with the whole crop.
He still maintained the fertilizer was a waste of money.
Many old timers would tell me about some young guy lying about his yield trying to rent their ground. I told many of those old guys I could show them those farms scale tickets if they desired! LOL
I actually told a couple of them they could rent the ground out, do nothing and make more money. They listened and the young guys came through for them. | |
