chirpfarm - 6/9/2023 06:09 If you can't see that EV's are the future, for better or worse, then that's your problem not his. It's interesting to hear feedback from a farmer on real life usage of an EV, even if it is in retirement.

Except that he's not a farmer reporting on real life usage of an EV as a farmer or how a farm family would use one.

He's a retired farmer with (lots of) time on his hands (which makes the slow EV "refueling" acceptable on a long trip) to report how he uses his EV as a luxury toy.

There are tons of non-farm related discussions on here. He still has a farmer viewpoint as to how well the product works even if he's not using it to haul hay. His experience is still valid and interesting. I've never seen him claim it'd haul the same as a diesel 1-ton. There's plenty of guys on here with other equipment that some people would consider a luxury.

I'm not in a rush to buy an EV and don't buy into the belief that they are better for the en ironmwnt right now, but the writing is on the wall that it's the direction we're all headed eventually. Might as well learn from the experiences of others while we can.
