I am not sure how you get Liquidity and Volatility in the market with out them, but I am willing for you to enlighten me and change my mind.



Not here to enlighten anyone but there would be plenty enough players in grain price discovery to have liquidity and volatility. Just not as much. I don’t think the extreme volatility is good for anyone (ultimately) except the gamblers who happen to win on some positions. And I don’t think the USDA reports are net positive for producers of the commodities they “report” on.

So maybe we want different amounts of volatility??

Pretty sure it would eliminate buyers from moving bids to new crop contract any time it appeals to them. Pretty sure it would put the pricing more so back into the hands of the people that produced it.
