SE SD
New neighbors a mile away asked us this winter if we would drive our skid loader over to their place in a blizzard and push out their driveway before they got home. Had never talked to them or met them before. It was terrible weather with the wind and snow but wanted to see what we could do. Drove over in the pickup and busted 3 foot drifts the whole way. Got to their driveway and it was at least 6 feet deep and blowing across. I don't remember what we told them but something to the effect of just stay in town this isn't worth it.

Now this spring they called dad and asked if they could just quick borrow our loader tractor. One of our 2 main tractors. It's a NH Genesis without a joystick for the loader and a bungee to keep the fuel solenoid up. Plus other little things. We politely refused. Not sure if we are now the stuck up neighbor farmers in their mind but if you're going to move out to the country, plan accordingly for equipment needs. If you can afford a 400,000 acreage, then you should be able to afford a loader of some kind.
