Joe R - 6/9/2023 21:18 I’m not gonna get off in the weeds on this. Just look up his posting history last year vs where his county ended up averaging. I’ll save you the headache…..it was a record. But all summer we heard “if we don’t get rain, it’s dry, blah blah blah”. DLB isn’t the only one, there’s others. I’ll let the readers figure it out. I try to expose it and just get crucified.

County yield numbers don’t mean squat if it’s your corner of the county that misses every rain that the rest of the county gets.   BTDT, last year.

5 miles north they had a 5” rain we didn’t have last year.   That 5” was worth ~100 bpa on corn.

That happens all the time. I can name two crop years in particular. One year we missed every rain while just 3 miles away in all four directions crops were way better. Another year it rained all day 3 mi west and they got 4 inches. We got zero. 100 bu difference in yield. Farmed too many years not to know brown lawns mean crop yields will be down.
