| You could use a free dynamic domain name service (DDNS). I believe most routers have this capability. Instead of typing in an IP address, you type in a web address (think www.google.com rather than 192.168.1.1). Your router watches for changes in your ip address and updates this domain name to point to your new ip address. Saves you from paying for the static IP. There are paid options out there but the free ones I have used never let me down. I’d run the wire if it were mine, but I’m old school and like the reliability of a wire vs wireless where possible. Just need to keep a wire under 300’ if I remember correctly. | |
