Whitewater, WI | We recently swapped AT 3000s from a 12r to a 16r machine. Our old one had the spray jet orifices on it while the new one has knives. I got it all set up today and filled with water to make sure it did what I wanted. How do you set up the knife spacing from the coulter? The manual isn't much help. It didn't come with one, but I found it online. Should it be as close to the coulter as possible or a certain distance? I ask because it came with the knives about 1/4" away from the coulter so that's how I ran it, but I found that some would hairpin corn stalks (conventional tillage) and stop the coulter from turning.
