Southwest Iowa | In years past posters on here were complaining about packers operating on enormous margins at the expense of the producer. I don’t believe beef price at the grocery store has increased as much as beef price at the Salebarn over the last couple years. So how have the packers not been able to keep their hold on profit margins? Why now is some margin shifting from the packer to the producer?
Is really just supply and demand or has something else changed? | |
