Not in Indiana. They maybe old laws, but they are still law and for good reasons they are there.
You are not just responsible for the right side of a property line fence you own it. You may think you’re being neighborly by building the left side but it’s not yours.

I asked my insurance agent once since I have literally the only cows in my township on pasture, and there is almost no fence left, how much my coverage is for crop damage they do before I can get them corralled.
He said zero, told he I wanted coverage, he said it’s against state law, responsibility is on the land owner to provide adequate protection of there property against livestock.
