You are 100% correct. 

I email Denis occasionally. He is alive & well, but his farming is starting to suffer from the war efforts. Most of us here have no concept of what it's like to have another country invade our homeland and try to kill us, destroy our infrastructure, and take over our country for whatever reason....all while trying to keep the home farm wheels turning. Some of us find it taxing to just farm & make it to all the kids ball games. OK...no one is bombing us while we work. We don't have to drive around unexploded ordinance while field cultivating, etc.

Denis is very able to sense the atmosphere here. He reads. But, he is physically involved in the daily war routine. Something most of us can't fathom....emphasizing "most" of us.
