Chebanse, IL..... | I'm on board for taking care of our homeless, somehow. As long as it doesn't encourage even more of the same.
However, the money we are spending on the newly arrived migrants (aka illegal immigrants) should be spent on our own citizens first. This has nothing to do with aiding ally countries that don't want to be mowed over by Communism again. Separate issues in my view.
Chicago has spent $300,000,000.00 (300 million) to food/cloth/shelter illegal migrants since August of 2022. There's somewhere between 27,000 and 36,000 illegal immigrants in Chicago now. So, doing the math shows about $10,000 per illegal.
Chicago spent $21,000,000.00 (21 million) for it's 68,000 homeless people in 2023. The same math shows $308.00 per US Chicago citizen homeless.
I'm also sure there's lots of money in both of these cases ending up in pockets that really don't deserve it for the situation intended. |
