Subject: storm damage - WI

Driftless SW Wisconsin

There was a lot of very good corn blown down in western WI, neighbors lost about 500 acres that will be very tough to combine. We have had almost 20 inches of rain in the last 10 days or so. This after a very dry summer.

The soil in many areas is like soup for quite a depth. The over night storm last Sat night left about 14-16 inches of rain in our area but must have just dumped straight down. Lots of water damage but evidently not much wind.  Then midweek there was another storm come through that did have strong winds and just blew down a lot of corn and trees.

Some towns in the valleys really suffered a lot of damage and need help to fix up.
