After no-tilling for 2 years we went with the JD single disk openers on our 7200. Jims right about double disk openers and proper fert placement in difficult soil conditions. Tried to find good used ones but needing only 6 it was near imposible to find. Anybody selling had 12 or more and didn't want to split. Finally bought new and really don't regret it. Here row cleaners really help. We went with Dawn and added a single curvetine wheel on each row and under our soil conditions couldn't ask for a better planter. Make sure you have enough down pressure.
