The Remington 700 is probably as good a factory rifle asthere is on the market dollar for dollar. A properly tuned 700 is fully capable of sub minute accuracy with ease.
My suggestion is a stainless steel rifle with synthetic stock.
As per chamberings, 270 Winchester and 30-06 are probably the most readily available factory loaded rounds available in the USA today. If you are about this deal look at a McMillan!!!!!!!!!!!!! And have them chamber it for a 7MM-06. That will REACH OUT AND TOUCH. But you will be "rolling your own".
