One of my non-ag BIL's asked a valid question the other day. I don't think it's been discussed here before. I'm choosing the Machinery Talk forum because maybe there's a mechanical reason for the answer I don't see yet. Anyway, he asked why is there only E-10 or E-85 offered? Why not consumer driven choices of E-20 or E-45, or E-57, or E-whatever? Seems if states like Illinois, MN, etc would go from E-10 to E-20, it would double the annual use of ethanol just by that move. Maybe the cars of today would work just fine w/E20 vs those of 30 yrs ago used to establish the E10 market? Is there a reason we're stuck in E10? Thanks. |
