I bought a refurbished Dell Lattitude this summer as a second laptop for less than $500. I think I bought it here. I would echo what others said. Keep your old computer for the important functions... keep it offline. Look into the on-line versions of Office variations - such as LibreOffice. Download a copy on your new computer. Work with it. Learn how to use it. See if it fits your needs. I have a program that I use where the macros don't work in LibreOffice, so I need to use Excel for it. However, I suspect it may not be an issue for you. At the very least, you have no dollars shelled out for it, and the only thing you have spent is Time. |
