This is for equipment diagnostics. Cat ET, Service Advisor, Cummins Insite, Navistar, etc. I use all of them on this laptop. Local Cat dealer has all their techs set up with the 5490s, but they only run ET.
Needs to be rugged enough for light abuse. Don't need a Toughbook.
I hate the smooth left/right click buttons where you hover your finger too close and it thinks you pushed the button.
Currently using a Dell Vostro. Out of space. I'm keeping all my equipment references (manuals, etc.) on a thumb drive.
