"You have to remove that remark about Agco's file format being unreadable as they have opened everything up now with the GTA software."

In that case, Ag Leader must either not have had time yet to incorporate an Agco reader into their software, or they've decided not to because the market-share isn't worth it for the time and work involved.

You make a good point about precision farming systems that are supplied by the iron manufacturers. They aren't just yield monitors or planter monitors. Depending on the machine they're installed on, they can record many other parameters that are supplied by the combine, and can control many combine functions also (adjust sieves from the cab, disable a planter row unit from the cab, have user-configurable crop presets and user-presets, so when John gets in the cab to harvest corn in the morning with a heavy dew, he punches a couple of buttons and gets a set of screens laid out to view the things he wants to view. He punches a couple more buttons and the combine automatically adjusts for those corn conditions. After lunch, Tom jumps in the combine, punches a couple of buttons and brings up the set of screens he wants to see, and a couple more buttons adjust the combine settings for drier corn.

You can monitor road hours vs field hours, in-work time vs. out-of-work, fuel consumption in each of those categories, etc.

In fact, the displays in some cases are so integrated into the machine that the machine depends on them, and it can be almost impossible to run the machine without the display. Kind of like running a car with no dashboard...
