South Central MN | Instead of saving my passwords to the bitwarden cloud, I'm hosting my own bitwarden repository on a personal server that I own at home. I'm not connected to bitwarden's cloud at all.
This allows all my phones, tablets, etc to connect to my personal centralized stored password vault, but it isn't a massive hacking target like the real bitwarden cloud vault.
I host it on my synology NAS, but I believe you could also host it on a computer you leave on most of the time. If the host computer is off bw will still work on your devices, but any passwords that are created while the host is off won't be updated across all devices until the host comes back online. | |
