Effingham County | Forgive me as it has been forty years since I have set in commodities marketing class at university. Unwind refers to offsetting a contract to avoid making or taking a delivery. I have read marketing letters which state the funds have shorted wheat hard and have not offset their shorts. I assume that they have no intention of dealing with physical they would be offsetting. All of this buying back at a low price should be starting drive wheat prices higher, correct? Now if there are more contracts than physical then there is no mechanism tying futures markets cash. If that is correct then all futures are just a casino and cash markets are pegged by nothing but illusion. Thanks | |
