for what they want for half ton pickups and smaller why not just get a 1 ton gas pickup that is useful? If you want a car or SUV buy that.
My son bought a half ton gmc and I bought a f350 gas loaded long box for $4,000 more about the same time  I think I got a more useful pickup.
