North West IA/western AZ | Thanks Russ, I'll see if my new GI doc is aware of this. For all I know, this is what she did. I know they went in thru the mouth but after that, I have no memory. Thank god!
After looking it up and watching some videos, I don't think I have achalasia. I didn't have trouble until I was in my 50's and achalasia usually presents in childhood. My blockage was likely caused by an inflamed ulcer right at the esophageal/stomach sphincter and some meat bridged the gap causing a dam.
