Had surgery on a Friday, went to a wedding on Saturday.. recovery is very easy.
Took about a month for "halos" to disappear around oncoming traffic at night. Was annoying but honestly a minor inconvenience. I think night-time glasses would have eased that side effect.
Some people get dry eyes after surgery. I was diligent with eye drops for about 2 months after the surgery and now I don't ever use them. Sunglasses will be your best friend for a while as your eyes are sensitive to light while they are healing.
If you do it, plan on not doing anything after the surgery. Your body will want to sleep and recover rest of the day. Other than that, it's really your only down time.
Shop around. Prices vary greatly, atleast "here", and some places offer free touch ups if your prescription does not get you to 20/20.
