Subject: Turnips

Have some turnips still in the garden and it may freeze friday night here in south central SD.

If it gets down to say 28 or 30 degrees will it hurt the turnip for eating? Anyone familiar with turnips knows they are usually half out of the ground growing.

Should I pick the turnips before it freezes? What is the best way to store turnips? I do have a storm cave. Does packing the turnips in dirt and putting them in a cave work, I know it does for carrots.

Any info on turnips appreciated. Thanks.
