I believe the early offerings out of Rantizo a couple years ago were designed like that. Believe they were a dji drone with boom attached. Maybe they still are running that concept, have checked in recently. I would guess weight is one reason, also when you move to boom you effectively max application width and would guess most don’t want to deal with obstacle avoidance across the entire width of a fixed boom. I’m with you the need to get better is a hurdle. Rotary nozzles let them pickup spray width by increasing height above target. Name of the game is acres per hour, so speed and application width are the only ticket. I think the cheating height and increasing speed in the name of dollars is going to give trust/ quality issues if not resolved somehow soon.
I really want one for my custom application business, just won’t commit with the current nozzle setup being pushed.
