North central North Dakota | After many years of great usage my MFC-9970CDW has started to give me problems. When it starts to print it tried to run but gives error and tells me to take toner tray out, remove cartridges, clean wires and then replace. Sometimes that helps but I will try to just pull out tray partly and then put back in letting it "set" in its correct spot or as close as possible and then it sometimes works. I am wondering if there is some connection spot where the assemblies have to be resting just perfect for "all gears to mesh". There is a Brother repair facility 100 miles away and thought of bringing it in.
For short term use I picked up a Brother inkjet to get by MFC-J1010DW - they are sure made cheap but I only paid $50 for this new one. Will probably get a new Brother color laser if I can't get my old one fixed.
