Subject: RE: Alzheimer's prevention

Pittsburg, Kansas
Instead of saying alternatively I would say "in addition" get proper sleep. Sleep is important. All of our body requires rest, be it the muscles, organs or the brain. Without recovery time bad things come about.

The amaloid plaque has been the subject of billions of dollars of research. Yet any drug they came up with to reduce it either didn't work at all or worked only a little short term and made the Alzheimer's worse long term. Also some people with Alzheimer's have a lot of plaque, others do not. So it appears the plaque is not the holy grail of Alzheimer's it was once thought to be. It appears to be part of the repair mechanism. The fireman rather than the arsonist.

But I agree, good sleep is a must for good health, brain and otherwise.
