Pittsburg, Kansas | Nightshades bother my wife also.
She can squeak by with a tiny amount of tomato sauce in something or a tiny amount of bell peppers in a Spanish dish, but if she has them often or much quantity, it makes her feel poorly. I suspect even the small amounts bother her, just not enough to make her notice.
So generally speaking she avoids them, but still gets a little here and there once in a while.
The strange thing is, can't put a specific date or time line when she became so sensitive. We used to raise a garden and ate lots of tomatoes and lots of potatoes. So we don't know if the consumption over time or just her age or some combination, but for whatever reason she can sure tell if she eats much of them today. | |
