Malta, Illinois | We have several new car washes that have gone in near us in the last few years. They are for the most part contact free. They do have a mop like thing that drops down and hits the windshield and roof but other than that not much contact. Car wash technology has come a long way. They do an excellent job for the most part. A couple of them have two guys with pressure hoses standing at the beginning and they knock off any hanging mud from rockers, steps, running boards, etc. To me the most beneficial part of the whole deal is the undercarriage flush they do. I believe it is extremely important for keeping rust at bay on these vehicles. There were car washes with contact brushes that had undercarriage flush years ago. This time of year I would use those to get salt off and never really had an issue with scratches or swirls. You can sure tell the people that don’t wash a vehicle regularly. Their eight year old vehicle is showing rust. | |
