northern edge of north central Missouri

Trying to read and follow along here with basis talk, but here’s a real example. Central ILL here. Let’s say delivered fall bushels and put on a basis ( too dumb to sell at that time and that company doesn’t offer dp.) rolled to March which will expire shortly currently at a ($-.15basis, if roll to may it costs a penny and the difference of $.12 (March to may). = a $-.28 basis then
Advice or thoughts appreciated.

All depends if May corn moves higher or lower than it is currently. Basis doesn’t matter. It’s 100% whether May corn goes higher or drops further from the moment you decide whether to roll or settle out.
