| It wouldn't surprise me if it did cost that much doing it myself. I hauled some this year 170 miles round trip. 200 plus corn that means 5 acres to the load . That is $300. $300 /5 = $60. Actually in that case the trucking was more than 60 as $2 a mile
would be $340. Not all of it went that far but most this year did. Some went further. Some got hauled to another farm at harvest so that costs too.
Go buy a new hopper for $60,000 and then bring home a decent truck for $40,000. Go buy some tires. Get you DPF cleaned and fixed then get your DEF fixed.
Heck, for the miles I drive, insurance and license runs $.30. I was lazy last year and hired some repairs done. That alone was probably $1.00 a mile. | |
