West Central Illinois | I’ve tried about everything to fix those darn Rubbermaid tanks, last summer used a small propane torch and screwdriver and heated crack and smoothed out with screwdriver, did inside and outside. Few days later applied Flex seal, that stuff is bogus. Anyway tanks still seep. Needed to use one tomorrow, this afternoon while tank was empty I put a 16 oz. Cup benonite clay over the crack and just put enough water to cover it. Tomorrow I want to fill tank. Do I need to pour out the little bit of water in tank or just fill it up? Going to put a few feeder calves on it.
Those Rubbermaid tanks sometime they changed the mold, we had our 1st one last many years, wish I could remember when we bought it, maybe 20 years, I’ve bought 5 or 6 since then and they all crack same place. Right at bottom where tank curves, my old one has a different mold pattern on bottom. Guys on you tube claim the torch and screwdriver works, maybe I’m not handy but comes a point where it’s not worth trying anymore. | |
