Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | Quite a few doing that around here. Seems to work fair. Probably better than continuous corn.
I tried it 20 years ago and thought with all the cover following sorghum it would work great but I think the sorghum takes enough moisture late in the fall there just isn't enough moisture to make a really good corn crop unless there is a lot of winter and spring moisture.
Also, the new corn hybrids seem to withstand dry weather better than they did 20 years ago. |
