South Central Illinois | In January we froze the tops off with subzero temperature.
Now a month later, you would not even know that it froze.
Technically, I wouldn’t say that it has broken dormancy and has greened up for the spring.
At Christmas time,
We had 3 to 5 tillers per plant.
It may well have been more like 4 to 5 per plant.
So I’m not really wanting any more tillers this spring.
How long do I hold off on nitrogen application?
March 1 and split apply it?
March 15?
March 30 and apply all of it in one shot. | |
