Subject: RE: Feeding brood cows potato byproducts

deep in the southeastern corner of Idaho
I found some cheap processed potatoes once. Hashbrowns, Chips and perils. The calves loved them. I used it as creep feed and mixed with ration after weaning. Ruined the feet on that entire bunch of calves by the time they were yearlings. Never wanted to creep feed calves again after that. Like Russ has said, if you are feeding fat cattle it can be a very cheap by product to add into a ration. I would never feed it to the breeding herd.
