Let'em sort. Take it home. Schedule a kill date. If steer, turn it out with the cows for summer. If heifer run her with the replacements. Then decide what you want to do.
I have a few short ears that were supposed to get lame. They are tagless and known as Shorty, Frostbite and Stubby. So far they are good cows and their calves have ears!
