Subject: RE: Ez Guide Field IQ options

northeast ohio
Your 500/EZBoom can be configured to control up to ten clutch sections bypassing the FieldIQ modules that the planter has installed. There was a FieldIQ section option for a 500 however it may have required a module option that is different than the section only version used by an FMX.

Once you move to an FMX or newer display, each Field IQ Section or Rate&Section module can control up to 12 sections as well as seed monitoring. The number of TruCount air valve boxes on the planter actually dictate the breakdown as each is capable of supporting 4 clutches or clutch groups. The FMX cabling guide is actually has the best FieldIQ diagrams. So, it’s your go to for TMX and GFX displays once you are on the implement side of the hitch. https://modernaginc.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/fmx_cabling-guide...

We run electric clutches and seed monitoring with TMX’s on Precision IQ (PIQ) using Field IQ Rate, Section and Seed modules. Based on experience with FMX and TMX, my recommendation would be to skipping past a FMX to at least a TMX / XCN 2050 to monitor with PIQ. I have an extremely nice XCN 2050 WAAS (capable of RangePount RTX) listed in classifieds. Can come up with a master switch and power cables to get to the hitch. No experience with TruCount clutches, but from reading threads you should plan on regular maintenance and having a collection of extra parts or spare clutches.
