North Central Kansas | Don't buy $4,000 pairs! That is my best advice. If you do buy cows try to buy them when others aren't wanting cows. Here November/December seems like a good time to buy bred cows. Especially if feed is tight like this year was. The closer they get to calving or have a calf on them the more expensive they become. This works good if you can graze them on stalks for a couple of months. Use some of your profit to improve your facilities. That doesn't mean you have to build a building. Look at your pens and working facilities and ask your self how can I reduce stress and improve my safety. Your safety being the key. | |
