Subject: RE: Fertilizer program for soybeans

SW Indiana
Hello Sebas (guessing short for Sebastian)

So I believe a hectacre = 2.47 acres

A ton is 2000 lbs so 4000 lbs would be 67 bushel or 27 bushel per acre.

If your using metric ton of 2200 lbs which would be 4400 lbs would be 73 bushel or 30 bushel per acre.

Yes, either one of those calculations would be a very poor yield in my area. Soybeans don't tolerate acidic soils well, a PH value around 6.3 to 7 would work well, if your seeing PH levels in the 5's it's going to be difficult to raise good soybeans regardless of fertilizer. If you are able to get a soil test it would be much easier to give good advice.

Thank you for posting on Agtalk as I really enjoy seeing and hearing about farming in Europe. If you have any pictures of your operation it would be great to see them.

Wes
