| I've been noticing the exact same thing in SW KS. Cover crop rye looks good, but the dryland wheat looks kinda punk at the moment. Go figure. I was even asking myself if I wanted to go spray it, the way it looks. Not sure if the wind beat it up or what. Odd thing is, my neighbor had worked his dryland last year and his wheat looks beautiful. Mine is no-tilled. But I haven't found the key to why that makes a difference at this time of year. Nitrogen shouldn't be the problem, as I put NH3 down when drilling. | |
