How dumb is that? I wonder why they take it to the landfill. That's too bad. I know in Hastings, NE, they have a lot of it, but it may be spoken for.
My guess is that the "gypsum" is contaminated with heavy metals like mercury, lead, or cadmium since it is the result of scrubbing flue gases from a coal-powered electric power plant.
