No, RTK not required. I run displaycast in our 2 combines. One is usually running Terrastar-X Ag Leader's RTK from satellite and the other just on WAAS. Obviously for combines, accuracy isn't quite an issue like it may be for row shutoffs while planting. I would guess it would work fine, unless you are getting really picky about plant spacing and any gaps or overlap.
