North central TX | See if she settles down in a month or 2. I have a last calf cow who heads for the hills as soon as she sees a person when she has a calf. Calms back down after a couple months and the calf gets where it can get off on its own to explore. She's not aggressive at all though.
Yeah
Have the same situation with a first calver out of a different maternal line right now. She's so nutty that after turning her and the calf out once i was sure he could keep up(he has a deformed, bowed, leg) that she headed straight for the neighbors fence where the trees have popped a wire and went straight over it with and led the calf down where there's a shallow water gap and worked him under it. She's come up and looked back at our side once or twice, but as soon as she sees one of us she bolts back out into the 400 acres. | |
