Soybeans have never paid out for PLC. In order for them to pay out the average price for the marketing year (September 1, 2024 - August 31, 2025) would need to be below $9.26. I would say the easiest decision would be to put the beans in ARC-Co.
First screen shot from the Illinois FarmDoc calculator for milo in Custer County. Basically this shows several different price and yield scenarios and which program has the chance for a larger payment for each one. The red negative numbers means that ARC-Co will pay out. The positive numbers means PLC will pay out. The corn chart looks very similar to the milo chart. Based on this the only times that PLC will have a larger payment is once milo price goes below $3.85 or corn goes to $3.75. Second screen shot is the same chart for wheat.
